Loved by locals and visitors alike, Oconee Springs Park is a popular choice for weddings, family reunions or just a fun day by the water. Since its construction by the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation and Putnam County in the 1960s, Oconee Springs Park now offers twelve acres along the shore of Lake Sinclair. They are full equipped with kayaks, paddleboards and pedal boats, a playground, and a volleyball area, as well as a spot to park your RV or rent a furnished cabin.

Sinclair Marina is the oldest and now newest full-service marina on Lake Sinclair. They offer a a state-of-the-art service department, boat storage availability and an assortment of boats for rent or purchase.

Historic Trolley Tour
200 West Hancock Street, Milledgeville, GA 31061
What better way to learn about the Milledgeville area than with a guided drive through the historic district? The tour visits landmarks such as St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and the Old State Capital, but the third stop rotates between Rose Hill, the Brown-Stetson-Sanford House, and the Sallie-Ellis Davis House. Trolley tours are hosted every Saturday at 10:00am, rain or shine. The cost is $12 per person and free for children two and under. You may purchase tickets in advance by calling (478) 452-4687 or visiting the Milledgeville Visitors Information Center. The trolley is ADA compliant, but moderate mobility is required for some stops.
Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion

Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion, designed by architect Charles Cluskey, is one of our nation’s best examples of High Greek Revival architecture. This residence was the stage for many important events through the Antebellum Period, the Civil War, and the early phases of Reconstruction. The mansion, fully ADA compliant with elevator access to all three floors of the building, is usually open for public tours 10:00am-4:00pm Tuesday-Saturday, and 2:00pm-4:00pm Sunday, with tours on the hour. Adults $10, $7 Seniors, $2 students, and free to children under 6 and GCSU students, faculty, and staff.
Andalusia: The Home of Flannery O’Connor
2628 North Columbia Street, Hwy 441, Milledgeville, GA 31061
Famed American writer Flannery O’Connor called Andalusia home from 1951 to 1964. After being diagnosed with Lupus, O’Connor moved to her family farm, where she wrote the majority of her fiction. The Andalusia Farm and grounds are now a museum that has been gifted to O’Connor’s alma mater, Georgia College and State University. The home is on the National Register of Historic Places. All public programming and tours are canceled until further notice, but usual operating hours are 10am-4pm Tuesday-Saturday, and 2pm-4pm Sunday, with tours on the hour.
Putnam County Veterans Wall of Honor Park

All-day, seven days a week, admission to the Putnam County Veterans Wall of Honor Park is free. This moving monument has six walls made of more than 1500 bricks that are engraved with the names of men and women who have served our nation in the Armed Forces. Old School History Museum

The 1916 Eatonton School may now be transformed into The Plaza Arts Center, but its presence is still felt within The Old School History Museum. Housed in four classrooms from the old school, the museum features a restored 1900s classroom; a gallery of Native American, Civil War, and 20th-century history; a reproduction of downtown Eatonton circa 1900; and a vintage drugstore complete with period photographs, a 1940s jukebox, and a marble-topped soda fountain. Closed on holidays, and open 8am-4pm Monday-Thursday for self-guided tours, and 10am-2pm Fridays and 10am-4pm Saturdays for docent-led tours.
Alice Walker Driving Tour

Alice Walker, renowned author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel turned musical, The Color Purple, was born in Eatonton, Georgia. The Alice Walker Driving Tour will drive literary fans past important places from Walker’s early life, including her childhood home. The home includes a room dedicated to the Walker family, items from the writer’s childhood as well as the Wards Chapel A.M.E. Church, where Walker was a baptized member.
