Heron's Hideaway at Lake Sinclair
Along the shores of Lake Sinclair, a family of blue herons flew among the treetops early in the morning. As Michelle Hatch watched from her lakeside home, it instantly brought a quiet calm over her body. These graceful birds, a daily reminder of the tranquility of the lake, inspired “Heron’s Hideaway”, a gorgeous lakeside retreat by Michelle and Charles Hatch.
Heron’s Hideaway originally began as a personal sanctuary for the couple, their two teenage kids, two dogs, two cats, and a tortoise named Shelly. Since starting their business in 2023, the waterfront cottage has become a popular Lake Sinclair getaway located only 19 miles from downtown Eatonton and 15 miles from downtown Milledgeville. This vacation home offers a variety of amenities, from the two-story dock and deep-water access to a paddle board, kayak, a fire pit, and more. The home is thoughtfully designed to welcome up to six guests, making it the ideal spot for small families. With two bedrooms featuring cozy bedding, a pack-and-play for the little ones, and plenty of space for up to two dogs, Heron’s Hideaway ensures that every member of the family—furry or otherwise—can enjoy the lakeside fun. For some extra adventure, book a boat or jet ski rental!
