Sweet Kneads
Joy Kuper, the owner of Sweet Kneads Bakery and Cafe, comes from a long line of entrepreneurial women with a passion for hospitality. Her mother, Brenda McSweeney originally opened Sweet Kneads in February of 2002 after running a successful baking and catering business in Connecticut.
The cafe is home to many delicious dishes including an award-winning quiche, bagels delivered from New York City and pepperoni bread.
But Sweet Kneads isn’t just about the savory. As you could guess from the name, this bakery specializes in delectably sweet treats to eat on-site or box up to enjoy at home. They’re famous for their amazing chicken salad as well—they sell at least 400 pounds in a normal week! They also dish up fantastic soups, sandwiches, and salads, every bit of it “locally sourced and crafted with love.” Sweet Kneads is also about family and community. Joy shares her mother’s love of food, hospitality, and transforming customers into friends.
