The Baldwin County Early Learning Center will be taking Head Start and GA Pre-K applications for the 2021-2022 school year from January 15th-29th, 2021 (excluding the18th-MLK Holiday). On January 15th-27th, applications will be accepted daily from 8 AM to 2 PM. On January 28th and 29th, applications will be accepted from 8 AM to 5:30 PM.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, those applying in person will need to sign in, take a number, and return to their car. They will contact then be contacted by phone when their number is up to complete their application.
Applications need to be completed and submitted by January 29th by 5:30 PM to be considered for initial enrollment. To apply online, visit https://www.baldwincountyschoolsga.org/early-learning-center. Scroll down to the Head Start/Pre-K application box and click on the link for more information.
To apply for the Head Start program the child must be 3 or 4 on or before September 1, 2020. Income and/or categorical eligibility guidelines must be met.
To apply for the Pre-K program the child must be 4 by September 1, 2020. Acceptance determined by using a lottery system.
To apply for either program, please bring the following information:
• Certified copy of child’s birth certificate (from the courthouse)
• Child’s social security card
• Proof of residence (utility bill-gas, water, electric or rental/lease agreement)
• Current income verification (2020 W-2, tax return, or 3 pay stubs from the month of November & December)
• Proof of disability, if applicable. We actively recruit children with disabilities, including severe disabilities.
