Introduction to Color Theory Class at The Artisans Village Art Gallery

In this introduction workshop, Kamden Ecker will demonstrate color theory, utilizing a four-color palette, and how to mix those colors to achieve ninety colors found in nature. She will go over her materials and why a limited palette is an integral aspect of achieving color harmony.

This workshop is demo-based, providing you with an overview of the concepts that will be gone over in her TBA ongoing class. She understands the commitment that is required to invest in materials, so this workshop will give you an understanding of oil painting and color theory so you can determine if you would like to delve deeper into the realm of oil painting.

Also, during this workshop, Kamden will demonstrate how the limited palette enhances your eye at breaking down colors in your reference in order to achieve them in your artwork. This is a key part of not only identifying color, but also accuracy in values, which leads to believable form and illusion of depth.
