The Holiday Market will feature local crafters with something for everyone. Holiday decor for the home, fresh foods, sweets, apparel, jewelry and pets items too!  Live music will be by Roland Fall. Poinsettia and goodie bag giveaways every 30 minutes!  Food trucks will serve up some tasty warm meals, with seating inside and out for relaxing.  The venue is the historic Howard Community Clubhouse in Macon. Lace up your walking shoes and join Lockerly Arboretum for Walking Wednesdays! Starting at 7 AM, enjoy a brisk stroll or morning meditation in the beautiful surroundings. The LEC/Morning Grind coffee truck will be on-site, serving delicious coffee starting at 7:30 AM to energize your morning. Embrace a healthy start to your day and savor a coffee break—don’t miss out on this refreshing and invigorating event!

Join the Senior “Slow Pitch” softball league, tailored for men over 50 and women over 40! All skill levels are embraced, with pinch runners available for those unable to run.

Bring your glove and bat, but don't worry if you need to borrow equipment. They play at the Putnam County Recreation Center on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting with batting practice at 8:30 am, followed by pickup games at 9 am until around 11 am.

When you shop small this year, you could also win a fantastic prize pack! On November 30th, as you shop in downtown Greensboro, pick up a raffle card from any participating business.

Visit at least three local shops, have each merchant sign your card, complete your information, and enter for a chance to win two tickets to the Greene County Historical Society Tour of Homes and a Greensboro swag bag. Participating businesses for raffle card pick-up and drop-off include Pinch of the Past, Greensboro Jewelers, Greensboro Antique Mall, Bonnie's Coffee Shop, Genuine Georgia, and Los Torres.

Experience the festive holiday cheer at Georgia’s Old Governor's Mansion this Christmas. Holiday decorations reflect the time period, 1851-1853, when Governor Howell Cobb and his family occupied the beautiful home.

Tour the Mansion by candlelight for a unique experience and follow the sound of angelic voices to the hidden rotunda inside the house where musicians are gathered around the 30-foot Christmas tree on December 7th and 21st!

The Mansion will be fully decorated for the holidays and open for tours from Saturday, November 16th to Monday, December 23rd. The Mansion is closed on Mondays (except for December 23rd) and will be closed for Thanksgiving Sunday, November 24th to Monday, December 2nd.

Explore Greene County’s Rich History at the Upcoming Historical Tour

The Greene County Historical Society invites you to explore the rich history of Greene County through the Historical Tour. This unique event features over 20 stops at historic homes, churches, and other significant sites in Greensboro, Siloam, White Plains, Liberty, and Union Point, providing an exclusive opportunity to step back in time and appreciate the architectural beauty and cultural heritage that shaped our community.

Highlights include the charming Wildwood in Liberty, home of Angela and Scott Deering. Nestled in the woods and completed in 2005, this stone cottage incorporates elements from the 1870s Smith-Strickland house and other antique features from Siloam, White Plains, Penfield, and beyond, creating an ambiance that transports visitors to the past.

The tour also features the stunning Davis House in Downtown Greensboro. Built in 1874 by merchant and banker Charles A. Davis, this Italianate-style home includes an intact ironing house, tack barn, and root cellar. Crafted from handmade brick, it features unique architectural details such as bracketed eaves and terra cotta window accents. Inside, you'll find Atlanta-crafted woodwork, an octagonal library with black walnut shelving, and marble-top washstands with hot and cold water in each bedroom.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply looking for an enriching way to spend the day, the Historical Tour offers a fascinating glimpse into Greene County’s heritage.
