Instructor Linda Foster will be teaching a Beginning Acrylic Painting class at The Artisans Village Art Gallery (or a nearby location within walking distance) in Eatonton from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 20th. This class will teach beginners painting techniques using acrylic paints as they paint a snow scene together. The cost of the class is $45. The supply cost is $5. A special palette and two substrates will be supplied for the cost of the materials.
Students should bring:
A table easel if you like to paint at an easel as opposed to flat
An assortment of brushes (I like the Masters Touch 1.5 inch Glaze Wash brush (which is similar to a flat), Masters Touch 1.0 inch Glaze Wash brush, Masters Touch ½ inch Filbert, a liner or script brush; number 4 flat—about ½ inch)
Acrylic Paint (artist heavy body paint, not liquid or sometimes called soft body paint—I prefer Utrecht brand paint, but you have to order that or go to the Dick Blick store in Atlanta, so feel free to get Golden Artist series or Liquitex Heavy Body if you are going to Hobby Lobby) in these colors: ultramarine blue, titanium white, cadmium yellow light; cadmium red light; yellow ochre
2 cups for water
Paper towel
Ruler
Pencil and eraser
Small palette knife or other device to mix paint (e.g. plastic knife, a brush you do not care about)
Sign up early before the spots fill up!
