Tuesday, Feb. 15 Georgia College welcomes guest artist and pianist Dr. Chenny Gan for a 7:30 p.m. performance in Max Noah Hall, sponsored by the Georgia Music Teachers Association Recital Exchange. "Classic Meets Jazz 2.0" is a blend of classical, jazz and improvised styles. This recital will take listeners on a witty and surprising journey of classical piano repertoire. Gan will perform original masterworks mixed with her own "jazzed-up" arrangements. Humorous anecdotes and interesting historical facts will be shared throughout to create an educational and entertaining experience. Currently a faculty member at Wesleyan College in Macon, Gan was nationally recognized on the "40 Under 40" list of the best young professors in the U.S. by NerdScholar.com. A $5 donation is encouraged. All proceeds benefit music scholarships or the GC Department of Music through GCSU Foundation, Inc. For more information, please email music@gcsu.edu or call 478-445-8289.
