Day 1: 10/18/2024 - Departure the U.S.
Depart the U.S. and embark on The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce’s fabulous adventure to the Costa del Sol.
Day 2: 10/19/2024 - Costa del Sol
Today arrive in the Costa del Sol, Spain's Mediterranean coastline! Upon arrival you will be met by the Chamber’s Discoveries tour manager after collecting your baggage and clearing customs. You'll then be transferred to your hotel and home for the next 7 nights. The rest of the day is at leisure. Tonight enjoy dinner at the hotel with your fellow travelers. (D)
Day 3: 10/20/2024 - Costa del Sol / Malaga
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a day in Malaga, one of the oldest cities in the world, founded in the 8th century by the Phoenicians. Today, art is everywhere - you can experience exhibits dedicated to glass and crystal, classic cars, contemporary installations, and, of course, the works of Picasso, who was born here. Wander past banana trees and beautiful fountains as you walk through Paseo del Parque, then hit the old city to quench your thirst at a Spanish tavern. (B, D)
Day 4: 10/21/2024 - Costa del Sol / Ronda
Today you will enjoy a full-day tour to Ronda. You'll see all the highlights of the lovely town, including the Plaza de Toros Maestranza, and the Church of the Holy Spirit, in Ronda`s town square. The picturesque town of Ronda spans the plunging river gorge known as El Tajo, crossed by the impressive 18th-century Puente Nuevo bridge. You'll visit the town square, known as Plaza de Espana, the Church of the Holy Spirit, built in 1485, and the Cathedral Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation (known today as the Church of Saint Mary the Elder), Plaza de Toros, the oldest bull ring in Spain, which has staged some of the most important events in bullfighting history. The museum's collection of memorabilia includes photos of famous bullfighting fans, including Ernest Hemingway and Orson Wells. (B)
Day 5: 10/22/2024 - Costa del Sol
After breakfast enjoy a day at leisure or an optional tour to Mijas. Here you will be greeted by lovely whitewashed houses and spectacular views over the coast and countryside. Mijas is one of the most picturesque villages in Andalusia seated 1,300 feet above sea level. Perhaps you'll even want to experience a true treat... a ride in a donkey-drawn taxi! (B)
Day 6: 10/23/2024 - Costa del Sol / Gibraltar
After breakfast, take an optional full-day tour The Rock of Gibraltar. Gibraltar also known as "The Rock", this massive stone guards the entrance to the Mediterranean sea, it offers a fascinating blend of English and Spanish culture. Return to the hotel just in time for dinner. (B,D)
Day 7: 10/24/2024 - Costa del Sol / Seville (optional)
Following breakfast, you will have an optional tour heading to Seville. The city tour of Seville will include visits to the Gold Tower, Giralda Bell Tower and the ornate Cathedral housing Christopher Columbus' Tomb. You'll also visit Alcazar Palace, an 800-year-old palace-fortress of the Arab kings and explore the old Jewish quarter of Santa Cruz, beautiful Maria Luisa Park, and Plaza Espana. (B, D)
Day 8: 10/25/2024 - Costa del Sol / Granada
Today enjoy a tour to Granada. Here the Alhambra Palace, overlooks the city of Granada, and stands out as one the most famous examples of Moorish architecture in the world. Delight in a visit to the lush gardens of the Generalife, the summer palace of the Kings of Granada. Marvel at the Nasrid Palace, constructed around the Myrtle and Lion Courts in the 14th century. (B, D)
Day 9: 10/26/2024 - Costa del Sol / U.S.
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for the return flight home. (B) OR, extend your stay with 2 extra nights in Madrid, Spain's majestic capital! Includes the Train from Torremolinos to Madrid, a Guided City Tour of Madrid, 1st Class Hotel Accommodations in the city center, a day a leisure, Breakfast and Transportation to the Madrid Airport to fly home from Madrid.
