New to kayaking or thinking about getting into the sport? Oconee Outfitters put together a course to teach you basic kayaking principles and practices. You’ll explore topics like transporting your kayak(s), entering/exiting the water, basic paddle strokes, and introduce techniques for rescue, both assisted and solo. The course should take approximately 3 hours and at the end you'll have enough knowledge to feel comfortable getting on the water on your own.

The current schedule for the FUNdamentals course is:

Sat. May 7 - 8am
Sat. June 4 - 8am
Sat. July 9 - 8am
Sat. Aug 6 - 8am

The price for the course is $75. If you purchase a kayak from Oconee Outfitters within 90 days before taking the class, the price is $50. (If you take the course first, a $25 discount may also be applied to the price of a new kayak for 90 days following the course.)
