The Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts (PAPA) presents "These Shining Lives" by Melanie Marnich and directed by Patrick Bohannon. This powerful play tells the true story of those courageous women who worked in the Radium Dial factory near Chicago in the 1920s and 30s. Nicknamed the Radium Girls, they painted radium on dials of clocks for a glow-in-the-dark effect. "These Shining Lives" promises to take audiences through a spectrum of emotions as they follow the fate of these women and, finally, the impact on future safety regulations for industries. "These Shining Lives" is presented by arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
